Haiti - Economy : Two new strike days in transport
Sonel Pyram, Spokesman of the National Platform of Unions Transport Faithful (PNSTF), which brings together twenty unions dissatisfied with the agreement signed last Monday between unionists and the Government announces two days of strikes in public transport on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 February. A strike supported by the parties of the radical opposition.

The PNSTF includes among others, the Union of Public Drivers From West department (SCPDO), the National Association of Drivers (ANC) and the Union of drivers of Petit-Goâve, Jacmel, Carrefour, Miragoâne Mirebalais and St. Marc.

The Platform requires nothing less than a drop in the price of fuel at the pump of 100 gourdes per gallon in the shortest possible time and says it is determined to continue the strike "until final victory" All unions of the coalition came together to argue that claim affirms the spokesperson.

Friday at the Primature, Rotchild François Jr, he government spokesman said on the issue of gas prices, "according to the calculations of all the technicians of the Ministry of Economy and Finances, it is physically impossible to remove 100 gourdes on the price of gasoline."
