PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) - The Minister of Agriculture, Fresner Dorcin, signed on Tuesday, an agreement with Canada and Switzerland to implement and expand a nationwide system of financing and agricultural insurance in Haiti (SYFAAH ).
The SYFAAH, implemented since 2011, aims to develop a funding system based on the construction of a partnership between the public sector and the private sector to structured, overall, the financial service offering for agro -entrepreneurs the ultimate goal to revive the agricultural and rural economy, create jobs and improve food security in Haiti, according to a press release.
The origin of SYFAAH began with Canada and Haiti working together to establish a system of financing and agricultural insurance in Haiti and globally the structuring of financial services for agro-entrepreneurs in order to revive the agricultural and rural economy, create jobs and improve food security.
